Volunteer Opportunities for 2024 - 2025 Season

Our volunteers are the heart of everything that we do to help support the students to do all the great things that they do throughout the year. This year, we have created a Sign Up Genius for a number of the volunteer opportunities to make it a bit easier for each of you to see what is available and be able to volunteer for items where your schedule allows.

A couple of notes about volunteering and this list:

  1. Almost all of the volunteer positions require clearances...this is a state law. Please see more information regarding clearances below.Larger/specific volunteer opportunities, such as concession volunteers for football games and home show volunteers will still be handled separately with their own sign-up. We will communicate these separately as we get closer to each event.

  2. Most volunteer opportunities have a chairperson, noted in the sign up. Those individuals will reach out and provide more information. There are a couple of items listed to gather a list of those interested in volunteering.
(Ex. chaperones, nurses, band camp helpers, pit crew, etc.)

Please note that you are not signing up for a specific event or signing up for every event, this is simply a method to gather names of those who are interested in helping out. The chairs of those activities will be provided the list of individuals who sign up to contact for each event.

For example, Mr. Cornelius will be provided the list of names for chaperones and will reach out, as needed, for each trip.

Likewise, Mr. Bujakowski will be provided the list of pit crew volunteers to reach out to for each game/show, as needed.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Pam Aston (pjasto8@gmail.com) or Bernadette Hensler (blhensler@gmail.com) or through the general band parents e-mail (ptbandparents@gmail.com).

Note about clearances: Please be aware that to volunteer for the Penn-Trafford School District and our Marching Band, you must have current

  • Act 34/PA Criminal History

  • Act 151/Child Abuse

  • Act 114/Federal Fingerprint.

Your initial clearances must have been obtained within one year of the date that you would be volunteering in the school. Once you receive your clearances, they will remain in effect for five years per Act 153. At the end of the five years, you must obtain new clearances if you want to continue your role as a volunteer. Please submit copies of your forms directly to Mr. Cornelius, even if you have previously submitted them to another school or teacher within the Penn-Trafford School District.
